The online scheduling system for the Romanian visa applications is operational starting December 13. The persons who are admitted to submit the applications are the Moldovan citizens, foreign citizens with permanent residence in Moldova and stateless persons. The Romanian diplomatic mission announces that the applicants can visit the webpage www.chisinau.mae.ro and activate the field VISA SCHEDULING and follow all further instructions. Also, the application for the visa can be printed. The Ambassador of Romania Filip Teodorescu stated at a press conference in late November that the scheduling system will be introduced in order to avoid queues, crowding, involvement of doubtful persons, proposing visa related services for money. After the introduction of this system, transparency will be guaranteed, the absorption capacity of visa requests will raise and unjustified expectations will be eliminated. Individual persons willing to visit Romania must go personally to the Consulate. The visa is free of charge and can be obtained during 2-5 days. The holders of the diplomatic passports, members of airplane crews, the persons granted with temporary or permanent residence on the territory of Romania will have the right to enter, leave, cross and stay on the territory of Romania without visa for 90 days each 6 months. The diplomatic mission and consular offices of Romania will offer multiple entrance visas, with one year validity term, with the right to stay for 90 days on the territory of the country each 6 months to bus and truck drivers, train crews, participants in joint or experience exchange programs, persons visiting relatives or the graves of the relatives and to journalists. Businessmen might obtain 5 year visas.
