Ombudsmen accuse separatist authorities of new school year disturbance in schools on the left bank of the Nistru under Moldova’s jurisdiction

Seizing the handbooks destined to “Lucian Blaga” lyceum in Tiraspol by the Transnistrian peacekeeping forces will have a negative impact on the educational programme, a last week declaration by Ombudsmen reads. Ombudsman Iurie Perevoznic made an appeal to the Moldovan authorities and OSCE Mission asking them to make all the efforts and use all the available means to solve the problem and not allow violating the constitutional right to education of the students in “Lucian Blaga” lyceum. The Tiraspol self-proclaimed regime blocked last week the way of a consignment of textbooks destined to the students of “Lucian Blaga” lyceum in Tiraspol. The textbooks were accompanied by Ion Iovcev, lyceum’s director, Ludmila Savin, lyceum’s librarian, and Nicolae Fachira, member of the lyceum’s parents council.
