The fact that a pro-European parliamentary majority was created is rejoicing, but not yet enough as the existence of a pro-European majority does not mean that the component parties will know how to manage this majority and that the politicians will behave honestly in relation to the vote given to them, said political commentator Olga Nicolenco. “I expect the created parliamentary majority to be active and efficient,” she stated for IPN.
The expert expects that the politicians will rather quickly divide the portfolios and will start to implement the plan for bringing Moldova closer to the EU. “I understand the proposal of some people that we should follow the example of Ukraine and bring three foreigners into the Cabinet. But I consider that we sufficient responsible, honest and non-corrupt persons in Moldova who can serve in the Cabinet. We should not expect someone else to solve all the problems for us. We must understand that we have sufficient professionals who should be named to the correct posts. We should also pay attention to the moral integrity of every candidate,” stated Olga Nicolenco.
She added that during the election campaign, the politicians who created the parliamentary majority in particular promised they will work for the people to have a bright future. “I tell them that the future came and it’s time to work,” said the expert.
On December 4, four days after the parliamentary elections, the Liberal Democratic Party, the Democratic Party and the Liberal Party agreed to create a pro-European parliamentary majority. According to the preliminary election results, the three parties have together 55 seats of MP.
