Oleg Vasnetsov named Russia’s Ambassador to Moldova

The RF Federal Assembly State Duma Committee for CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots named Oleg Vasnetsov as the ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports, with reference to RIA Novosti.

“We accepted Vasnetsov as ambassador to Moldova, while Bocharnikov, who until now was ambassador to Kazakhstan, will serve as ambassador to Azerbaijan,” the Committee’s deputy chairman Konstantin Zatulin told the press.

Oleg Vasnetsov worked at the embassies in Sofia and Paris and at the central bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the department for cultural relations and UNESCO and the department for relations with the regions of Russia.

Farit Muhametshin, who was appointed ambassador to Moldova in 2012, completed his duties at the start of this year, but still works in Chisinau
