Oleg Sirbu to take Andrei Popov's seat in Parliament
The parliamentary seat vacated by deputy foreign minister Andrei Popov is to be occupied by another member of the Democratic Party, presumably Oleg Sirbu, who was confirmed to the office at today's meeting of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Info-Prim Neo reports. Yet it is the Constitutional Court that has the final say.
Andrei Popov renounced his seat in Parliament, opting for the office at the MFA, although according to the law he could have kept both.
Oleg Sirbu, 43, currently serves as director of a limited liability company.
The Democratic parliamentary faction numbers 11 deputies.
