Oleg Serebrian: Krasnoselski cannot be arrested. He is part of the reintegration negotiations

The leader of the Tiraspol administration, Vadim Krasnoselski, cannot be arrested under the so-called "law of separatism" because he is part of the reintegration negotiations. The information was confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian on RLIVE TV. Serebrian said that such a decision could generate additional tensions, IPN reports.

The official reiterated that Vadim Krasnoselsky is a citizen of Russia and Ukraine, and used Russian Federation documents for his visit to Moscow. According to Serebrian, the possible arrest of the separatist leader may generate consequences for the constitutional authorities.

"It is not impossible, but we have to think about the consequences. Should we create such a situation? I think not. They will say that a conflict situation is being created in Chisinau. It would be a problem," Serebrian explained.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean confirmed that he held talks with Vadim Krasnoselsky after his return from Moscow. The prime minister said that he has talks with Krasnoselsky only "when there is a potential escalation of the situation" and in the current context he gave assurances that the authorities are doing "what they have to do" to protect citizens, including those on the left bank of the Dniester.
