Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, has held talks in Brussels with the European Union representative for foreign affairs and security policy, Kaja Kallas, IPN reports.

The European Commission spokesperson for foreign affairs and security policy, Anitta Hipper, announced on her official website that the talks were held in the context of the energy crisis in the Transnistrian region and the EU's assistance in this regard.

Thus, the two officials analyzed the impact of the crisis on Moldova's stability and Russia's influence in this regard.

"They discussed how Russia is using energy issues as a weapon to destabilize Moldova, putting a price on people's well-being," Hipper said.

The European Union will provide 30 million euros to help Moldova buy and transport gas to its citizens, Anitta Hipper wrote.

Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian visited Brussels today, where he had several meetings and discussions on the energy security of the whole country, including the Transnistrian region, in the context of the gas crisis.
