Oleg Efrim to attend Moldova-EU forum
Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim will attend the 2012 Moldova-EU Forum, which takes place in Berlin, Germany. On Tuesday, Oleg Efrim will deliver a speech and answer the questions of participants in debates on the reform of the judiciary and of the interior in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release of the Ministry of Justice.
The Moldova-EU Forum brings together high dignitaries, political experts and leaders from Germany, Romania, Poland, Ukraine and Moldova. The debate agenda includes topics about the relations between the European Union and Moldova from the perspective of the political association and economic integration, of foreign and security policies in Eastern Europe. Other topics are economic relations and the business environment, the role of civil society and local public administration in promoting reforms, conflict settlement and European integration.
During the forum, the Minister of Justice met his German counterpart Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger. The discussion between the two officials focused on the actions taken by Moldovan authorities for the implementation of the provisions of the Strategy for the Reform of the Judiciary 2011-2016.
Oleg Efrim told the German official about the efforts made by the Moldovan Minister of Justice to promote a set of amendments to laws regarding the organization and functioning of the judiciary, as well as new law regarding the selection and evaluation of judges’ performances and career. This package was adopted by the Moldovan Parliament and has already come into effect. Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger was invited for a visit in Chisinau.
