The justice sector reform strategy provides for the reformation of about 30 institutions, not only of the Ministry of Justice. However, not the large number of institutions that are to be reformed is the main challenge faced in the transformation process, but the multitude of interests and the resistance of the system players, Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim has told Info-Prim Neo. “I must admit that we do not have agents for change in the legal system and this is sad. Therefore, all the changes must be propelled and forced so that we could achieve the projected result,” said the minister. According to Oleg Efrim, the essence of changes does not reside only in the implementation of laws, but also in the change of the attitude and mentality of those working in the justice sector. This is a long-term process, which should be catalyzed because a lot of time was lost and a new meaning must be given to the notions of professionalism, integrity of the legal system players and professional ethics. The minister also said that the Ministry of Justice must be a leader by the transformations expected by society and planned in the justice sector.
