Independent candidate Oleg Cernei, who claims to become the people’s voice in the Chisinau Municipal Council, presented the priorities that he will assume if he is elected councilor. In a news conference held at the Central Market in Chisinau, Cernei said that he chose this place not accidentally as this market is the perfect image of the city, where corruption and disorder dominate, IPN reports.
Oleg Cernei said officials of the Chisinau City Hall annually receive by 5 million lei through corruption schemes implemented through the agency of the Central Market, at a time when the enterprise’s official income is 12 million lei. All those who ran for the mayoralty of Chisinau since 1990 didn’t solve the problems related to this market and the central bus station. A solution is to create selling places for all those who trade in the street at the over 40 food and industrial markets of Chisinau so that the traders sell their merchandise in a civilized way.
The public amenities reform is another priority announced by Oleg Cernei. According to him, the apartment buildings in Chisinau could not be thermally insulated and repaired with foreign funds if there was no clear management formula. Dwellers associations should be created in all the privatized blocs, which would take decisions.
The fight against corruption at the Chisinau City Hall, the solving of the waste recycling problem and depoliticization of the local public authorities are among the other priorities of the independent candidate for the post of Chisinau councilor.
