Old-age pensions represents less than 70% of minimum subsistence level
The monthly minimum subsistence level in the second quarter of this year was 1,385.8 lei on average per person, an increase of 11.9% compared with the corresponding period last year. The minimum subsistence level for pensioners was 1,197.2 lei, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the National Bureau of Statistics.
This level for the working population was over 1,400 lei, for men – over 1,500, while for children – 1,255 lei on average a month.
The available monthly incomes of a person made up 90.9% of the average minimum subsistence level, as against 91.8% in the same period last year.
The average monthly salary of an economy worker in April-June was about 3,000 lei, up 6.2% compared with the second quarter of 2009. Thus, the minimum subsistence level for the working population was 201.8% covered.
The monthly pays in the financial sector exceeded the minimum subsistence level 4.4 times, while in agriculture made up 99.0% of this level.
The average old-age pension on July 1 was 809 lei a month. It represented 67.6% of the minimum subsistence level, as opposed to 73.1% in April-June 2009.
