Oil products from Belarus will be imported by trucks as well

The oil products from Belarus will be imported into Moldova not only by trains, but also by trucks, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the amendments introduced by the Government to the regulations concerning the importation of oil products of April 17, 2002. The annex to the regulations that indicates the customs posts through which the oil products are transported was extended with the customs post Otaci - Moghiliov-Podolisk. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, which proposed the amendments, the importation of oil products from Belarus through the customs post Otaci - Moghiliov-Podolisk by trucks will help reduce the transportation time from about three weeks by train to 2-3 days, while the price of a tone of fuel may decrease by US$100-150. Thus, the diesel fuel will be sold to farmers by at least 1 leu per liter cheaper. The importers say it will not be possible to immediately start transporting oil products through Otaci – Moghiliov – Podolik as the oil terminal there is under repair. The Moldovan companies presently import 60% of the gasoline and 50% of the diesel fuel from Romania. From Belarus, they import 15% of the gasoline and 28% of the diesel fuel, while from Ukraine - 3% and, respectively, 8%.
