The officials who broke the law or are suspected of acts of corruption should resign, by the example of the prosecutor general of Romania and the minister of economy of Ukraine, said experts from the February 3 panel of the evening talk show “Politics” produced by TV 7 channel, IPN reports.

Former minister of finance Veaceslav Negruta considers the high-ranking officials should also resign in protest, when they are requested to do illegal things. “I resigned from the post of minster after I was told to take particular actions with respect to Banca de Economii. The protest dismissal should exist in our country too, but most of our ministers are named to posts not accidently. They are entrusted with well-defined tasks by the parties that promoted them. There is a whole mechanism and it’s rather improbable that we will witness protest dismissals or dismissals of honor,” he stated.

Economic expert Sveatoslav Mihalache also pleaded for the dismissal of corrupt functionaries. “The prosecutor general of Romania resigned only because of particular suspicions. Maybe our prosecutor general will follow the example of his Romanian counterpart,” he said.

Economic expert Viorel Garbu considers there are no chances for functionaries suspected of acts of corruption to resign in Moldova. “We do not have an authentic political class. The problem resides in the political parties. The functionaries are obliged to play the game of the parties that promoted them,” he stated.
