Officials in district offices protect oriental food sellers - interim mayor

Officials in the district offices favour the activity of the fast-foods that are selling oriental dishes, Chisinau interim mayor Vasile Ursu stated at Monday’s sitting of the City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports. As head of the Municipal Centre for Preventive Medicine (MCPM) Iurie Panzaru says, despite the prescriptions of the MCPM that repeatedly insisted on ceasing the activity of these units, at present there are operating 5-6 legal entities that hold booths, where oriental meat dishes are prepared. The inspections have proved that neither ingredient used in the sold production corresponds to the sanitary requirements. Moreover, the collected tests found salmonella bacteria and other infections dangerous for health, while the cooked products had a musty odour, Panzaru said. MCPM head asserts that the sanitary doctors’ prescriptions are ignored by the legal entities, as they are supported by certain officials. He asked for the help of police and municipal services in charge. Vasile Ursu requested in turn to close all the fast-foods that did not respect the sanitary norms and stated he had information that the officials who protect these entities are working within the district offices. Earlier, the interim mayor said he will combat corruption among local authorities in accordance with the Action Plan regarding the prevention of corruption in the City Hall and Chisinau Municipal Council.
