Official representative of Russian Military Prosecutor’s Office arrives in Chisinau
An official representative of the Military Prosecutor’s Office of Russia has come to Chisinau, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Karpov announced after Wednesday’s meeting of the Government, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
Eugen Karpov said that the Russian official is to establish the method of cooperating in the investigation of the tragic incident that happened at peacekeeping post No. 9 with representatives of the Military Prosecutor’s Office of Moldova.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Russian peacekeeper who wounded fatally Vadim Pisari is in the Transnistrian region. “The investigation group informed that there is now no need to arrest him, but the investigators must have access to this peacekeeper to question him. All the witnesses of the incident at peacekeeping post No. 9 will be questioned,” said Eugen Karpov.
He also said that representatives of the Moldova authorities were able to talk to the Russian peacekeeper immediately after the incident. The peacekeeper was taken to Criuleni for a breath test. The first results showed the military man wasn’t under the influence, but there will be performed a detailed analysis of the blood.
Eugen Karpov stressed the results of the ballistic examination have not been made public yet.
On January 1, Vadim Pisari from Pirita was wounded mortally from a gun by a Russian peacekeeper at the trilateral peacekeeping post No. 9 near Vadul lui Voda. He drove a car and ignored the peacekeepers’ request to stop, displacing the safety barrier and the traffic sign “Stop”. The peacekeeper fired several shots in the air and then at the car. A bullet penetrated the young man’s back. He died at the Chisinau Emergency Hospital several hours after the incident.
