Official Chisinau warns Romanian authorities about possible electoral provocations

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova has warned the Romanian authorities about “possible electoral provocative actions involving Romanian citizens”, the Ministry says in a communiqué, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to the quoted source, Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Filip Teodorescu was called to the Foreign Ministry on March 20 and informed that groups of Romanian citizens were to arrive in Chisinau during March 26-28 to take part in different public electoral events. “Given the friendship relations between our states, the Moldovan authorities consider it necessary to warn that provocative actions could take place during the election campaign,” the Moldovan Foreign Ministry’s communiqué says. The official Chisinau asked the Romanian authorities “to check the given information and take into consideration the high probability of such actions so as to prevent possible involvements of Romanian nationals in provocations that could destabilize the internal situation in Moldova.” Also, the Moldovan authorities pledged to take all the necessary measures so as not to admit such a situation that would endanger the good relationship between Moldova and Romania, the communiqué reads.
