Officers in reserve will be taught to start businesses

About 300 officers in reserve will be able to learn a new profession within a project that will be implemented by the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Moldova starting with the second half of September, Info-Prim Neo reports. The project will be carried out with the support of the OSCE, which selected the Chamber of Trade and Industry by contest. The Chamber will cooperate with the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of the Interior, the Border Guard Service, and the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova in implementing the project. According to Sergiu Harea, the head of the Chamber’s Economic Development Division, the project will last for 12 months. Within it, officers in reserve will be given lecturers on information technology, assessment of realty and movables, how to set up a business and will be taught foreign languages. The project will be implemented in three stages of three months and a half each. A job fair will be held as part of the Made in Moldova exhibition that is traditionally held in January, organized by the Chamber of Trade and Industry. At the fair, the “first graduates” from among the reserve officers will be able to find a job and to present business plans so as to identify financing for their business ideas. The project will be rolled out on September 15, 2010.
