Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Chisinau Petru Svet signed an ordinance on Wednesday, February 28, according to which the evacuation of the offices and archives of the Museum of the Village will be stopped. The coordinating director of the Museum Eugen Bazgu told Info-Prim Neo that the judicial executors started to evacuate on Wednesday the offices and archive of the Museum located on Bucuresti Street (former Museum of Atheism) for the third time. The evacuation was started according to a decision of the court issued in this respect in April 2006. The employees of the Museum opposed to this action. Mihai Ursu, director of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History (Museum of the Village is its branch), said that the administration of the Museum had to pay MDL 3 thousand for rent to the City Hall of Chisinau at the beginning of the last year. The City Hall sued the Museum and although it paid the debt until the lawsuit, the Economic Court decided to annul the rent contract and to evacuate the Museum from that building. According to Mihai Ursu, certain persons who are supported by the City Hall of Chisinau try to promote their interests in this case.
