Members and volunteers of the public association “Honor, Dignity and Homeland” (ODIP) in June and July will carry out an awareness-raising campaign to inform about the advantages of Moldova’s union with Romania and the rapprochement with the European Union. The young people will travel to villages and towns to discuss with the people and to distribute leaflets and tricolor ribbons. For the purpose, a volunteer recruitment campaign entitled “Romanians are counted in spring” will be conducted in April.
In a news conference at IPN, ODIP members said that the information campaign will be launched in response to the statements of the leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon, who said that he will demand to ban unionism in Moldova. “Throughout June and July, we will go to most of Moldova’s communities, including in Gagauzia, to inform the people about the advantages of the Union with Romania. We will come with good and peaceful thoughts, not with blackmail, bans or foreign armies, as others came,” said the association’s head Vlad Biletski.
The members of the association said the campaign will involve hundreds of volunteers that are yet to be recruited. Tatiana Rebeja, one of the association’s coordinators, said the recruitment of volunteers will take place between April 1 and April 29. Those who want to apply can fill out the application form on the website www.odip.md.
Another coordinator, Alexandru Gribincea explained that the information campaign in June will take place in the municipality of Chisinau, while in July the young people will travel to Moldova’s villages and towns to disseminate information about the benefits of the Union.
As the campaign is aimed at correctly informing the people, the ODIP members announced the launch of a new media project entitled “Liber TV – Fii #liber cu noi” (“Free TV – Be #free with us”). This will include the launch of the news portal www.libertv.md, the periodical “Ziarul Romanesc Liber” (“Free Romanian Paper”), and of a radio station and TV channel. The goal of the media platform is to ensure the first truthful and unbiased source of information in Moldova.
“We commit ourselves to ensure an independent, Romanian, authentic and politically unaffiliated source of information. As regards out historical origin, the project #Liber is designed to be the first source of news with national Romanian priority in the Republic of Moldova,” stated Corina Bezer, editor-in-chief and main coordinator of the project.
The news portal was already launched, while the first number of “Ziarul Romanesc Liber” appeared on March 27. The young people aim to issue the newspaper two times a month and to disseminate it to all the communities in Moldova.
