About 12,000 tree saplings will be planted in different parts of Chisinau on October 24. The planting event will involve employees of the district head’s offices, the General Public Amnesties Division, the Chisinau City Hall and the Chisinau Electric Transport Company. The residents of the capital city are urged to join in.
Contacted by IPN for details, Tudor Gîrbu, adviser to the mayor general on housing problems, said that about 20 employees of the General Public Amnesties Division and approximately 50 employees of the City Hall and the Botanica district head’s office will plant about 2,000 trees and nearly 5,900 bushes in the Muncești Forest Park at 50 Dacia Blvd, on Șoseaua Balcani St, in “Valea Morilor” Park and other places.
Chisinau is one of the greenest cities and the relief requires planting trees. “The trees ensure shadow and oxygen. I think it is everyone’s duty to take part in the planting event,” stated Tudor Gîrbu.
The event planned for October 24 is the second event of the kind staged in Chisinau. 100,000 trees are to be planted in the capital city this autumn.
