Octavian Țîcu is leaving DA group and will run for mayor of Chisinau

MP Octavian Țîcu is leaving DA Platform, ACUM, group but remains within the ACUM bloc as an independent MP. He will also run for mayor of Chisinau in the local elections on October 20, IPN reports.

At a press briefing held on September 18, Octavian Țîcu stated that he was the founder of the resistance movement, he supported Andrei Năstase in the election campaign for Chisinau City Hall, but the lack of cohesion and the politicization of changes compromised the ACUM bloc.

"I did not sign the agreement between the ACUM bloc and the PSRM, but I supported the Government of Maia Sandu by declaring the state captive," said the MP, who further stated that signing of the temporary agreement between PSRM and ACUM bloc legitimized the socialists and compromised once again the ACUM bloc.

"PPDA, PAS and PSRM have staged a cheap show, signing the agreement after the arrest of Marina Tauber and Reghina Apostolova, trying to buy the electorate," specified Octavian Țîcu.

The MP says he will be a candidate in the local elections because he will not admit "a hysterical person like Ion Cebanu to win the Chisinau City Hall".

"Likewise, I cannot admit that a traitor and a liar as Igor Dodon would be omnipresent in a society which has very clear constitutional provisions," declared the MP.

Octavian Țîcu called for the coalizing of pro-European parties in order to guarantee success in Chisinau.
