The candidate of the National Unity Party for the mayoralty of the capital, Octavian Țîcu, calls for mobilization on the eve of the local elections on Sunday. "I urge you to show solidarity and understanding of the special political context, thus helping us create another image for politics and another image for Chisinau," said the electoral contender at a press conference, IPN reports.

"It's one of the last conferences before an important test. On October 20, on Sunday, we will go to the polls in a post-Plahotniuc era, at a time after the oligarchic regime was overthrown”, stated Octavian Țîcu.

The candidate claims that following the elections, the most important issues he has identified will be a priority. These are: the construction of an urban identity for the city of Chisinau, through the adoption of the General Urban Plan, which will also include the suburbs. As a package deal, the adoption of the Zonal Urbanistic Plan will follow, and as a result, "the real estate mafia will come to an end, and will no longer occupy green areas, playgrounds, etc. Among the priorities, the electoral contender also mentioned the construction of a municipal sports club, the preservation and enhancement of the historical centre, and so forth.

According to the candidate, all these objectives cannot be accomplished without major political change. "Only by voting for me and my team can we concentrate our efforts not only on these local elections, but also on the upcoming parliamentary, presidential elections," Octavian Țîcu stated.
