Octavian Țîcu, Iurie Reniță, Ana Guțu and Alexandru Arseni are the first candidates on the electoral list of the National Unity Party (PUN). The party’s leader Octavian Țîcu said the party will run in elections on its own and the electoral bloc that they would accept as an alternative is one between the PAS, PPPDA and PUN, IPN reports.
Octavian Țîcu said discussions were held with the other unionist parties for combining forces for the snap elections, but the party’s members ultimately decided that the PUN will compete independently in elections.
“We discussed with Vasile Costiuc. Those from AUR were also present. Later we discussed with all the heads of local organizations. We have 26 heads and the opinions were different. But we are a democratic party and do as the majority decides. This is how it happens,” Octavian Țîcu stated in the talk show “Black Box” on TV8 channel.
The politician also said they reject the idea of an electoral bloc with the PPPDA, which does not want Moldova’s Union with Romania.
“We were in favor of only one alternative of electoral bloc - PAS-PPPDA-PUN. A bloc together with the PPPDA only does not make sense. Where is it said that the PPPDA is a unionist party whose explicit plan is the reunion with Romania? The PPPDA is a party that has its own skeletons in the cupboard,” said Octavian Țîcu.
