Observers in the November 21 snap local elections will be able to signal electoral violations occurring at polling stations using an online platform. Complaints submitted at observator.cec.md will be promptly examined and addressed, says the Central Electoral Commission.

Local electoral staff are being familiarized with the new complaint system and training for observers will follow soon.

The platform has been developed with the support of the Council of Europe as part of a program that assists the development of electoral processes in Moldova. The module is integrated within the CEC’s automated information system “Elections”, including with the Electoral Roll, which enables to automatically verify observers applying for accreditation.

CEC has accredited 79 observers for the November 21 elections, and the local electoral authorities 104 others.
