An opening of about 300 meters appeared in the barrage last night and the water advanced towards the village, Emergencies Situations spokeswoman Liliana Puscasu has told Info-Prim Neo. The barrage reinforced by rescuers and servicemen yielded under the pressure of the water. The evacuated residents of Sarateni village, Hancesti, do not have access to the affected areas as the risk of flooding persists. The water continues to pass through the sacks of sands. In some places, the water reaches 2 – 2.5 meters. The Prut water level in northern Moldova decreased by 5-40 centimeters. The lever of water in the reservoir Costesti-Stanca fell by 11 centimeters. The releases constitute 590 cubic meters per second. The water level in Ungheni, Hancesti and Cantemir also decreased. The villages of Cahul district located in the Prut meadow continue to be threatened by floods. The level of water of the Nistru oscillates. In Otaci, Ocnita, and Orhei, Dubasari, the water level increased, while on the Floresti – Rezina segment and the Anenii Noi – Stefan Voda segment decreased. In Vadul lui Voda town, the floodwaters receded.
