{Repeat from January 2} The incident in the security zone will not change the situation along the Nistru River, considers Oazu Nantoi, an expert in the Transnistrian issue. “The situation will not evolve. We will tolerate such behavior and tell them to come again if they liked it,” the expert stated for Info-Prim Neo. “On July 21, 1992 there was agreed the format of the peacekeeping troops that runs counter to all the international standards and common sense as these troops include troops of Russia, which is a party to the conflict, the illegal paramilitary troops of the anti-constitutional Transnistrian region, and Moldova’s troops. It is evident that these troops cannot ensure peace on Moldova’s territory and do not protect Evghenny Shevchuk’s sister who lives in Chisinau, but represent a shield protecting this regime,” said Oazu Nantoi. He also said that it is serious when so-called peacekeepers shoot at unarmed persons as such things do not happen out of the blue. “What did the Moldovan authorities do during 18 years to ensure Moldova’s energy security and not to be blackmailed by Gazprom? What did we do to remove this regime by peaceful methods so that all the smugglers from the banks of the Nistru do not profit from this frozen conflict? If there is not civil dignity and political will, there will be many thieves and bandits in our country,” said Oazu Nantoi. He stressed that if the so-called peacekeepers and the border guards and customs officers of the Transnistrian regime disappear, everybody will realize that there is no conflict between the two banks of the Nistru. “Article 5 of the agreement of 1992 has been flouted. It clearly says that the parties will ensure the free movement of persons, services and goods, while we pretend that everything is ok and we go towards Europe,” said Oazu Nantoi. A 18-year-old man driving a car was shot in the back by a Russian officer after he displaced the safety barrier of the peacekeeping post, but did not stop. He died in the hospital one hour after he was operated. Vadim Pisari from Pirita would have turned 19 in May.
