More than 1,000 of cases of flu have been recorded in Moldova since the start of the epidemic season. Influenza has claimed 20 deaths so far. The last death was reported in the municipality of Chisinau last week. According to the National Public Health Center, the victim aged 58 wasn’t vaccinated against seasonal flu, IPN reports.
The Center’s data show that the number of cases of acute respiratory infections last week was by over 24% lower than a week before. The number of severe respiratory infections declined by over 20%. Some 95% of the persons with flu were hospitalized. In the case of acute respiratory infections, only 6% of those affected by these were hospitalized, while in the case of severe respiratory infection – 9%.
Specialists recommend eating fruit and vegetables that contain vitamin C and phytoncide products and going to see a doctor when the first symptoms appear, such as headcheese, fever and coughing. Late detection of flu can have serious consequences and can even lead to death.
