The number of users of landline phones in the first nine months of 2018 came to 1.1 million, down 2.3% from the end of 2017. In the period, voice traffic generated by users of landline phones declined by 15.8% compared with the corresponding period last year to 1.01 billion minutes, IPN reports.

According to the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology, the landline phone penetration rate per 100 people was 31.5%.

Compared with January-September last year, the traffic initiated by international networks decreased by 32.3%, traffic in own networks fell by 15.9%, while traffic in mobile networks decreased by 15.6%. The average monthly voice traffic per user was 157 minutes.

The revenues in the field declined by 20.4% to 422.2 million lei. The average monthly revenue per user was 41.5 lei.
