The Cabinet on March 26 consented to initiating negotiations on the signing of a cooperation agreement between the ministries of education of Moldova and China so as to form the basis for the implementation of the bilateral accord signed in 2001.

Under the agreement, the number of scholarships and internships will be increased, while the exchange of teachers will be intensified. The signatories will designate by 20 scholars every year. Assistance will be provided in teaching Romanian in Chinese institutions and in teaching Chinese in Moldovan universities.

Based on the bilateral accord, at least ten Moldovans studied in China. Currently, 20 young people from China study at Moldovan universities. Over the last few years, a number of Moldovan universities established cooperation relations with higher education establishments of China.
