Number of persons admitted to triage center COVID-19 at “Moldexpo” goes up

The persons admitted to the triage center COVID-19 at “Moldexpo” have increased in number. During the last 24 hours alone, there were admitted 128 persons suspected of having the novel coronavirus, said Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu, who paid a visit to the center, IPN reports.

According to the minister, the number of beds for such patients was increased. The green area was extended by 50 beds. “We will also increase the number of medical workers who will be assigned by municipal health facilities. As many as 98 health professionals work there in shifts at present,” stated Viorica Dumbrăveanu.

More than 7,600 patients have been admitted to the COVID-19 center starting with April 10, when the center began to work. “We daily adjust the measures of response to the epidemiological situation, but call again on the population to obey the protection measures, to avoid crowded places, swimming pools and vacationing,” Viorica Dumbrăveanu posted on Facebook.

Moldova so far has got about 28,000 infections with the novel coronavirus. The death toll from COVID-19 stands at 857.

As many as 426 patients are in a serious state and 28 of them were put on a ventilator. Another 1,190 patients are in a medium grave state, while the other patients are in a satisfactory condition. More than 3,000 persons with mild forms of COVID-19 receive treatment at home.
