Number of parties that would enter Parliament higher

If snap parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, four political parties would enter Parliament. The number of entering parties would increase to five if the undecided voters are excluded, according to the data of the "Sociopolitical Barometer February 2025" survey presented by IMAS in a news conference at IPN.

Some 25.9% of the respondents would vote for the Party of Action and Solidarity, 21.7% - for the Bloc of Communists and Socialists, 9.1% for the “Victory” Bloc, and 7.7% for the Political Party Our Party. Other political parties would not pass the electoral threshold. Also, 5.6% of those surveyed would not vote, and 17.13% do not know or did not answer.

"We have a change of positions in terms of the 3rd and 4th places. Our Party moves to the 4th place, and the “Victory” Bloc climbs to the 3rd place, with 9.1%," said IMAS director Doru Petruți.

Among the respondents who have a voting option, the votes would be divided as follows: PAS – 33.6%, BCS – 28.2%, EB “Victory” - 11.8%, Our Party – 10%, Heart of Moldova – 5.3%.

"We have this novelty related to the party of Mrs. Irina Vlah – Heart of Moldova. In this poll, if we refer to those who are decided, we see that there would be five parties that would pass the electoral threshold. Certainly, in the next poll we will also have the Alternative Bloc measured and, possibly, there will be even six parties above the electoral threshold," said Doru Petruți.

According to him, this becomes somewhat clear by simply summing up the voting intentions for the National Alternative Movement Party and the Party for the Development and Consolidation of Moldova.

"This would already be above the electoral threshold and, probably, Mr. Stoianoglo will also bring a plus of image. The picture of voting intentions is in motion. During the next weeks, months, this picture will fluctuate. I think there will be interesting developments and changes," said the IMAS director.

The sociopolitical barometer was conducted between January 16 and February 1 and covered a sample of 1,130 people from 86 localities. The margin of sampling error is ±3%.
