Over 4,000 persons looking for a job registered with the National Employment Agency in December 2019. The unemployment figures were lower than in 2018, IPN reports.

As many as 31,484 persons were registered as unemployed in 2019, as opposed to 35,544 persons in 2018. The men represented 53% of the jobless.

The unemployment benefit last December was 1,689 lei on average. A number of 1,294 persons were entitled to such benefit last yearend.

According to the National Employment Agency, 11,245 jobless persons were placed last year, with the vacancies totaling 34,283 since the start of 2019.
