About one third of the minibuses running on routes in Chisinau have been taken out of routes for the summer period. Some of the route administrators withdrew up to 70% of the minibuses.

Contacted by IPN, the chairman of the Private Carriers Association Ion Mamaliga said the withdrawn minibuses will be put back on routes in the last decade of August, when there are celebrated the national holidays and when the school and university students return to the capital city.

About 1,800 minibuses run on routes in the municipality of Chisinau, but now there at most 1.300.
