The number of applicants for licenses allowing using radio frequencies of the limited state resources has increased. According to the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology, 42 such licenses were issued in the first half of this year, an increase of 44% compared with the corresponding period last year, IPN reports.

In most of the cases, the licenses were issued to providers of broadcasting services and retransmission of audiovisual program services. At the request of the providers of electronic communication networks and services, the Agency issued 16 licenses for using numbering resources based on which there were allocated 209,100 telephone numbers.

The Agency also issued 167 technical permits for using radio-communication stations owned by the applicants. Of the total number of permits, 96 are for radio-amateur stations, 62 – for mobile radio-communication stations, while seven – for radio-communication stations based on Moldova’s territory.

The licenses for using the limited resources and the technical permits are provided free of charge, while the license for activity in the area of information technology – for a tax of 3,250 lei. This sum is fully transferred into the state budget.
