Number of homes affected by heavy rain in Ceadar-Lunga on the rise

The number of homes affected by the rainstorms of the last few days in Ceadar-Lunga town increased to over 100. The heavy showers also damaged more than 200 hectares of crops and local roads on a distance of about 22 km, IPN reports.

According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, about 60 basements were flooded. Nine houses were partially damaged. Of the over 200 hectare of crops that were affected, almost 100 hectares were wheat fields, 43 hectares were barley fields, while the rest were sowed with corn, sunflower, tobacco, etc.

The works to deal with the consequences of the heavy rain will be continued tomorrow as well. The situation is permanently monitored. Rescuers call on the people to follow the instructions of the authorities and to immediately call 901 for help.
