The fines imposed on passengers for travelling by trolleybus without tickets in Chisinau last year totaled 263,800 lei, up over 4,000 lei on 2013, show data of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company, quoted by IPN.

Most of the persons who didn’t have a ticket preferred to pay the fine on the spot. Overall, there were imposed 5,276 fines.

The fine for traveling without a ticket is 50 lei if it is paid on the spot, 75 lei if it is paid within 72 hours, and 200 lei if a court decision is passed.

The fine for students is 10 lei.
