Number of EU visa refusals for Moldovans down

The number of refusals in granting visas for Moldovan citizens at EU embassies and consulates in Chisinau decreased considerably. The information was made public in the seventh meeting of the Moldova –EU Joint Committee for managing the agreement on the facilitation of visa issuing between Moldova and the European Union, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the diminution in the visa refusal rate shows that the Moldovan applicants for visas enjoy credibility. The delegations of Moldova and the EU approved of the significant rise in the number of multiple entry visas issued to Moldovan nationals, which offers increased flexibility in the trips through the European area. The sides discussed the method of implementing the future amendments to the agreement on the facilitation of visa issuing, which refer to the exemption of certain categories of applicants from visa fees, the abolition of the visa regime for holders of work passports, and the increase in the number of groups of people who can benefit from multiple entry visas. The Joint Committee is an institutional mechanism set by Moldova and the EU with a view to managing the agreement on the facilitation of visa issuing between Moldova and the European Union.
