Number of electronic export statements on the rise

Some 43% of the customs export statements submitted last months were performed electronically through the E-customs service. Last January, there were registered only several dozen electronic statements, the Customs Service has said in a communique, quoted by IPN.

By eliminating paper documents and enabling performing export transactions electronically, the Customs Service offers the producers the possibility of becoming more competitive on foreign markets, minimizing the clearance time and considerably reducing the costs associated with the export of national products.

By this system, the economic entity communicates with the customs post only through the agency of the information system and submits the customs statement and all the documents needed for clearance in electronic format only. Thus, the direct contact with the customs employee is practically excluded, which is an important factor for promoting transparency in the activity of customs.

E-customs was launched in November 2013 and represents a new stage of modernizing the customs procedures by implementing electronic services in the area of foreign trade.
