The cabinet of ministers has approved the president's bill, which provides for the increase from 1.95 to 2.2 of the multiplier for the minimum guaranteed monthly income, which is used to establish the right to receive aid for the cold period of the year.
The Minister of Health, Labour and Social Protection, Viorica Dumbrăveanu, said that the draft law aims to increase the degree of social protection of disadvantaged people and families. Thus, "the number of beneficiaries would increase by 50 thousand people or about 30 thousand families".
According to Viorica Dumbrăveanu, the draft decision regarding the increase of the aid amount for the cold period of the year from 350 to 500 lei will be approved at the next meeting.
Prime Minister Ion Chicu said that the approval of the bill represents "the enactment of the list of seven social projects that were announced on Monday, November 18".
