Number of children not attending school has dropped threefold in one month

The number of children not attending school has dropped threefold in a month, show data from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. While as of October 1, the number of children left behind school stood at 123 (0.03 percent of all the minors between 7 and 16 years of age), in November their number has come down to 47 children (0.01 percent). A report on school attendance reveals that in 22 districts all the children aged 7-16 years attend school. According to the Ministry, free meals for first to fourth graders are provided in most of the educational establishments, except for 4, which are now under extensive repair. All the students from underprivileged families in the grades five to nine, that is 54,473 children, enjoy free meals as well.
