The municipal sections intended for patients with influenza and acute respiratory infections are full. According to the head of the Chisinau Health Division Vladimir Bolocan, in case of an increase in the number of patients, national institutions will be asked to offer assistance, IPN reports.

"We have 1,969 cases of acute viral respiratory infections, compared to 17,73 cases the previous week. The increase is quite large. Furthermore, many persons were hospitalized over the weekend. That's why an evaluation of the number of beds was needed," said the head of the Health Division.

Bolocan also said that the other medical and social services are not affected by this wave of illnesses. As for social assistance, over 4,500 people last week benefited from services offered by the social assistance units in Chisinau.
