Number of Baccalaureate challenges lower than last year
As many as 16,492 applications challenging grades on Baccalaureate exams have been submitted this session. This is 13.1% of the number of exam papers. According to the Ministry of Education, the number of challenges is lower than last year, when there were filed 22,528 applications, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The previous years, most of the applicants asked that the entire work be rechecked. In the 2010 Baccalaureate session, 99% of the applicants asked rechecking only a part of the work – 2-5 items of 12.
Minister of Education Leonid Bujor said this is because the Ministry of Education this year created appropriate conditions for such an assessment form, in accordance with the regulations concerning the holding of Baccalaureate exams. The students could concentrate on their works as the exams were taken in classrooms, not gyms and there were no police officers at the entrance to the Baccalaureate centers, the minister stated.
