The number of arrivals by foreigners in Moldova last year increased by about 28% compared with a year before. Thus, about 3 million arrivals were recorded at the border crossing points.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, about 45% of the visitors came from Romania, 35% from Ukraine, while 9% from Russia. Approximately 80% of the foreign visitors preferred to travel to Moldova by cars and buses, 2% by trains and the rest by planes.

The number of departures by Moldovans abroad in 2015 rose by 10% on 2014 to 5.6 million. Most often, the Moldovans traveled abroad by cars and buses.
