Teachers across the education system will have salaries that will enable them to use their time for both personal growth and for keeping students educated. And funding for schools will rise depending on needs, and not on personal preferences or political loyalties. This is what the electoral bloc NOW is promising to achieve as part of its campaign.
Presenting their education agenda on Tuesday, NOW members said they would also promote the creation of more private kindergartens to combat both the overcrowding in the public ones and the phenomenon of unauthorized fees. Kindergarten places available for under-threes would also be increased.
Another education-related commitment is to create training programs for teachers taught by experienced educators in order to disseminate the best and most effective teaching practices. NOW will promote a system of mentorship in the general education system so that more experienced teachers share know-hows with their younger colleagues, enabling the latter to grow professionally and develop new skills.
Another key point in NOW’s agenda is inclusive education, with a focus on providing adequate support to children with special educational needs so as to offer equal opportunities to all children for a better future.
NOW co-president Andrei Nastase said the bloc will prioritize competence whenever decisions related to the future of Moldova’s education are made.
“The school should be a place where every child can feel special and where they enjoy going. Our task is to create such an environment, where learning becomes interesting and safe, useful and relevant for all the children”, stated Maia Sandu, the bloc’s other co-president.
