The notaries will change the place of work territorially only at contests that will involve notaries with a length of service of at least five years. A relevant bill was passed by Parliament in final reading on April 1, Info-Prim Neo reports. The notaries who promoted the contest for changing the place of work territorially will occupy the posts according to the average score obtained. If two or more notaries have the same average, priority will be given to the notary that has a longer seniority. Members of the Movement “Democratia Acasa” (“Democracy at Home”), who staged a protest the day the bill was adopted, said the legislative initiative encourages monopolization of the notarial work and promotes the interests of a limited group of notaries working in cities, who do not want to face competition. The Opposition lawmakers consider that the amendments prevent the young specialists from obtaining jobs in the important towns of the country, where all the posts are already filled.
