The Government exempted the notaries from the obligation to have cash registers. According to Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase, the notaries are not economic entities that perform commercial transactions in cash and thus do not need cash registers, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The notaries fulfill a state duty. The costs of the notary services are included in the notary documents,” said Alexandru Tanase. The minister also said that there are hundreds of court decisions saying it is against the law to force the notaries to use cash registers.
