“Nonaggression pact” between PSRM and ACUM could be signed in several days

Vlad Kulminski, adviser to Prime Minister Maia Sandu, said a nonaggression agreement for the upcoming local elections between the Party of Socialists and ACUM Bloc is expected to be signed the next few days. This pact will serve as a sustainable basis for the government’s work during the next year. The issue was developed in the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel, IPN reports.

“The agenda is vast. Plahotniuc (Vlad Plahotniuc, ex-leader of the PDM, e.n.) left, but the machinery he built is a mechanism for obtaining money from the state and this money can be actually used by the one who is at the top of the pyramid,” sated Vlad Kulminski.

According to the adviser, the key task of the power is to bring things in Moldova to normality. The justice sector reform could be done afterward. It is very important for the common agenda of the parliamentary majority to continue and for this majority to work honestly.

Expert in political sciences Igor Volnitski said President Igor Dodon’s proposal for the entities that formed the parliamentary majority to sign a nonaggression pact deserves to be considered. In the absence of such a document, the election campaign prior to the local elections could be the start of the dismemberment of the current ruling alliance. “I followed all the elections that took place in Moldova during the past three decades and know that this can happen. It will be hard without an agreement. What the President suggests refers not only to the election campaign, but also to the agreements that could be reached after the local elections,” stated the expert, noting the Democratic Party is yet very powerful and it would be a mistake to ignore this fact.

Journalist Valeriu Demidetski said the power found itself in a difficult situation. On the one hand, if the rulers start to take revenge on those who had been in power until now, Pandora’s Box will be opened and everyone will do the same. On the other hand, the period when no one borne responsibility for the deeds committed while in power should not be repeated. “I would like the government to find power and explain to society that something like this is inacceptable. On the other hand, this 30-year era when no one has been punished should be brought to an end,” noted the journalist.
