Political commentator Corneliu Ciurea said the nonaggression pact that the Party “Action and Solidarity” and the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” intend to sign is first of all intended for the voters of the right. Furthermore, this pact offsets the absence of a common candidate in the upcoming presidential elections and the lack of unity on the political right. According to him, the parties of the right suffer losses and have to somehow restore the voters’ confidence in them, IPN reports.
“They all understand that these animosities between parties will have a negative effect on the parties of the right and thus propose this nonaggression pact that is not convincing, but that can calm down the voters of the right for a period,” Corneliu Ciurea stated in the talk show “Key Issue” on NTV Moldova channel.
According to him, the misunderstandings inside the ACUM Bloc could have derived from the new parliamentary elections in Hâncești, where the Party “Action and Solidarity” fielded an own candidate, while a former member of this party runs independently there, attracting the voters of the right and the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”. Things should not be yet dramatized as no war was yet waged on the right.
Expert in political sciences Ernest Vardanean said the signing of a nonaggression pact is an absurd move from the very beginning. “These parties have the same view. They can have different methodologies, but a nonaggression pact means that they were close to devouring each other. They should probably clarify things between them and then point the finger at the left. We are witnessing something unhealthy here,” he stated.
