Non-fastening of seatbelt can be one of reasons for banning access to Russia

The Moldovans can be banned from entering Russia without being informed about this. The ban can be imposed for different illegalities, including violation of public order, speeding or even non-fastening of the safety belt. The persons can find out about the ban only when they return to Russia.

In a news conference at IPN, the head of the Congress of the Moldovan Diaspora in Russia Alexandr Kalinin said Moldovan drivers of large trucks find out that they cannot enter Russia because they regularly violated the traffic rules. The ban is imposed even if the drivers pay the fines in Russia.

According to Alexandr Kalinin, the presentation of falsified documents when crossing the border and illegal labor are among the reasons for which access to Russia can be banned.

The Federal Migration Service of Russia is only one of the 11 authorities responsible for migration management. To be sure that they will not be stopped at the border, the citizens must make inquires to all these authorities to find out if bans were imposed on them. The lifting of the bank can be obtained by court.

Deportation and access banning are two different things. If a person is deported, they will be unable to return to Russia during five years. A ban on entry is valid for 3-4 years.

According to the Federal Migration Service, more than 550,000 Moldovans are currently in Russia. Of them, 228,000 face penalties for illegal stay. As many as 78 Moldovans were deported from Russia in 2013.
