Nominal composition of Chisinau electoral offices modified
The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) Thursday voted to change the nominal composition of the electoral offices of the polling places set up in Chisinau, Info-prim Neo reports.
The composition was to be modified as 116 persons were struck off the lists of the electoral offices of 94 Chisinau polling places.
A number of councilors asked who is to blame for the fact that the initial lists of the electoral offices included dead persons, persons that were seriously ill or were not in the country.
The CMC secretary Valeriu Didencu explained that the responsibility is borne by the Council and that similar changes had been made to the lists during the previous election campaigns as well. “The dead person was fielded by a party,” Didencu said, without naming the party.
Alexandru Corduneanu, the leader of the faction of the Christian Democratic People’s Party (PPCD), proposed replacing some of the persons included in the lists with more competent persons, but his proposal was rejected. Therefore, the PPCD abstained from voting on the decision.
